Superb Day

The beautiful “Superb Fairy Wren” always catches my eye. Their size however makes them easy to overlook. In this painting I have put the wren in the spotlight, both literally and metaphorically. A curious interaction with other tiny creatures of the rainforest. I was playing with optical depth effects in this painting to narrow the focus onto the bird and to create the illusion of the tiny scene that this interaction is occurring within.
